Getting started
Setting up Feedfast
- Install Feedfast from Google Play and open it.
- Read the short notice about Accessibility and tap Agree.
- Feedfast opens your phone’s Accessibility settings. Tap Feedfast (it may be under Downloaded apps or Installed apps), turn it on and confirm.
- Feedfast comes back by itself. Pick the apps you want blocked and start your first session.
Why do I have to turn Feedfast on in Settings?
Android never lets an app switch on Accessibility with a pop-up. You turn it on yourself in Settings, so no app can do it behind your back. Feedfast opens the right page and comes back by itself once it’s on.
The switch is grey or says “Restricted setting”
Android limits apps installed outside Google Play, and some phones do it for Play apps too.
- In Accessibility settings, tap Feedfast and try to turn it on. Android says “Restricted setting”; tap OK.
- Open Settings › Apps › Feedfast (App info), tap ⋮ at the top right, then Allow restricted settings, and confirm with your PIN.
- Go back to Accessibility settings and turn Feedfast on.
The menu option only appears after step 1.
When blocking stops
Apps aren’t being blocked
Check that Feedfast is still on in Settings › Accessibility. Android turns it off after some updates, and some phones turn it off to save battery. If it’s on, check that the app is in Rules › Apps and that a session, schedule or limit is running.
Feedfast keeps turning off
Your phone may be stopping Feedfast to save battery. Change one setting for your brand:
- OPPO and realme: open battery settings, choose Feedfast, allow background activity and turn on Auto launch.
- Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO: open battery settings, choose Feedfast, set Battery saver to No restrictions, and turn on Autostart in App info.
- Samsung: open battery settings, choose Feedfast, set it to Unrestricted, and make sure it isn’t in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.
- vivo: open battery settings, allow high background power use for Feedfast, and turn on Auto-start.
- Pixel: open battery settings, choose Feedfast and set it to Unrestricted.
- Other phones: find Feedfast in battery settings and remove any restriction or optimisation for it.
Feedfast’s own Settings › Help opens the right page for your phone.
No time-left notification
Turn on notifications for Feedfast in your phone’s settings. Blocking works without them.
Feedfast turned off by itself on Android 17
Android 17’s Advanced Protection Mode turns off accessibility access for apps like Feedfast. If you use it, blocking can’t run. Your streak isn’t affected when this happens.
Using Feedfast
Focus sessions
On the Focus tab, pick Focus, choose how long and tap Start. Free sessions last up to 2 hours; Premium goes up to 12. While a session runs, the apps in Rules › Apps show the block screen.
Can I stop a strict session?
Strict sessions can be undone in the first 30 seconds. After that, Feedfast keeps the block until it ends, unless you turned on partner lock and your friend gives you the code. Turning Feedfast off in Settings stops it, and resets your streak.
Breaks
On a non-strict block, I need a break gives you a short break after a pause, so a habit doesn’t decide for you. The number of breaks per day is shown on the button. Strict blocks have no breaks.
Schedules and daily limits
Schedules (Rules › Schedules) block apps at the same time each week. Daily limits (Rules › Limits) give an app a number of minutes per day and reset at midnight. Free covers 3 schedules (1 strict) and 3 limits. A running schedule can only be turned off for today through the same pause as a break.
Exam mode
Exam mode lets only the apps you pick open; everything else is blocked, including apps you install later. Add your exam date to see a countdown. Free covers 3 apps for up to 2 hours; Premium has no app limit and goes up to 12 hours.
How does Lend mode work?
Lend mode lets someone use your phone with only the apps you pick. Phone calls and text messages always work, and nothing is blocked during a call. When the time is up, every app locks until you unlock it with your screen lock or fingerprint, and you can end Lend mode at any time the same way. Lend mode needs a screen lock on your phone.
Pomodoro
Focus rounds with short breaks in between; only the focus rounds block. Premium lets you set your own round and break lengths.
How do I uninstall Feedfast?
Like any app. Feedfast never blocks Settings or stops you uninstalling it. Uninstalling deletes everything Feedfast kept on your phone.
Reels and Shorts
How Reels blocking works
Open Rules › Reels and switch on each app. When the Reels or Shorts feed appears, Feedfast takes you back to the app’s home tab and shows a small “blocked by Feedfast” note; the rest of the app keeps working. Facebook Reels are free; Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts need Premium. You can switch them on or off at any time.
Reels or Shorts still show
Apps change their layout often. Feedfast fetches fixes by itself; until one arrives the app shows “Needs update” in Rules. Block the whole app if you need to be sure, and email us with your phone model and the app’s version.
Does it work in my language?
Instagram and YouTube work in every language. Facebook Reels blocking covers English, Bangla, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Indonesian, Italian and German, and more are added through rule updates.
Privacy and data
What does Feedfast see?
Only which app is open and, in apps where you block just the feed, the names and labels of screen elements, to recognise the feed. What it sees isn’t stored. On your phone only, it logs when blocks happened and time on apps with a daily limit, for Insights. Nothing about your usage leaves your phone, and there’s no account. Read the full privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Settings › Reset statistics clears your history; Reset Feedfast clears everything; uninstalling removes it all. We hold no copy, so there’s nothing for us to delete.
Backup and moving to a new phone
Premium can save a backup file of your rules (Settings › Your data) that you keep wherever you like, and restore it on another phone. Feedfast doesn’t use Android’s automatic cloud backup.
